YOUR BAG IS EMPTY

"In my eyes everybody possesses inherent beauty;
the skill of aesthetic medicine is to identify, enhance, and bring this beauty to light. Any aesthetic intervention, in my opinion,
is equivalent to a gentle touch on a live canvas - not to change, but to emphasize what already exists in a proportional and sensitive manner. Since balance, harmony, and a feeling of inner security are the foundations of true beauty, I work to achieve naturally serene and individual results. In my work, I treat out of a passion for aesthetics and an intimate knowledge of the human soul, from the belief that when a person feels loved in his eyes -
he projects it to the whole world."

Here at Dr. Barr’s clinic we practice cutting-edge medicine

Dr. Udi Barr here. And rather than merely discussing my work in the field, I’d like to offer some thoughts about the future of medicine.  I went to medical school at Tel Aviv University, but I’ve since learned that the standard curriculum leaves out significant information about alternative therapies, nutrition, supplements, herbs, human aging, the mind-body connection, and the social responsibility of doctors and other medical professionals.

Looking back on my time in medical school, there is nothing I would change about the program, but I do think more information should be included. What makes medicine so interesting to study and practice is how rapidly it develops. Since finishing medical school, I’ve come to agree with the adage that “medicine is an art,” one that necessitates a nuanced grasp of the healing process and a person-centered approach to each patient.

Future medicine, in my opinion, will be more holistic. This is not to say that conventional medicine should be abandoned, but rather that patients should have access to a variety of treatment options. They demand the doctor’s complete attention, a defined treatment strategy, and awareness of latest scientific advancements. In the realm of nutritional supplements, it is widely recognized that they play a crucial role in the comprehensive approach to anti-aging treatment. For several years, I have been extensively studying this field while treating my patients in the clinic. In 2013, I wrote the Complete Israeli Guide to Nutritional Supplements, which is not only the most comprehensive resource available in Hebrew, but also offers structured and scientifically grounded knowledge on different supplements and their verified advantages, and provides guidance on appropriate amounts and safe usage.

I think it’s past the point of no return for medical professionals to turn a blind eye to “alternative” forms of treatment. Instead, we need to use strict scientific criteria for evaluating methods. I spend much of my time in the clinic, giving talks on cutting-edge research to other doctors in my field and writing informative pieces for the public good. At our clinic, we put an emphasis on the mind-body connection by using a therapy approach that takes into account the whole person.

One of my personal tenets is “Beauty before age: Before aiming to look young, ensure you are beautiful.” I have learned from my own life and the teachings of great physicians that extraordinary medical care is worthy of being considered art.
