Cheeks and chin design are a key element of my work for many years.

Treating and fixing the facial frame has a key role in correcting signs of aging reflected in the distressing appearance of facial weakness and dropped jaw line.  The Clinic’s Cheeks and Chin Design techniques are unique in recreating a more beautiful face proportion.

Since ancient history certain rules have been established relating to the imaginative triangle that is created etched from both cheeks and chin.  These golden rules have been kept religiously  throughout  entire history:  during the Greek and Roman times in the appearances of gods and goddesses, The Middle Ages and Renaissance Culture once more in Europe  – legendary portraits of beautiful men and  women bearing the same perfect proportion. Of course, in modern times, it is also easy to recognize the triangular structure characteristics in all iconic film stars.

The Effect of Age on Beauty

With increasing age, starting some time from the late twenties, there begins, both in men and women, a relative withdrawal of the cheeks’ peaks along with the jaw line thickened due to obesity.

To this storage of subcutaneous fat that has been gained in the jaw line, during the next few decades of our lives, we add also the process of deeper skin tissue weakening (Elastosis), and the absorption process and changes in the size of the cheekbones and jaw in the mechanism of Osteoporosis.

This integrated process creates the appearance of facial sagging that is so typical of aging in both sexes in the form of an “inverted triangle”, in which the lower part of the face has greater volume than the top.

Improving Beauty at any Age

In many of us, even at a young age, the cheeks and chin attain their ideal position, a fact that has led many “dissatisfied with nature” former actresses to implant silicon prostheses underneath their skin, a surgical procedure which sometimes ended in dislocation (displacement) of the implant and created visual distortion, as well as rejection complications and severe infections.

In the last decade, with the emergence of ultra safe fillers based on hyaluronic acid, many treatments are made today in the country and worldwide aimed at designing and highlighting the cheekbones to restore, in a controlled manner, the classic facial triangle and lift of the dropping face frame.

However, with the insertion of hyaluronic acid in a popular technique that uses a large amount of filler material at a time (Bullous?), a puffy and unnatural appearance of the face was created.

Even when Hyaluronic acid is inserted through long needles or even soft cannulas, an accumulation of hyaluronic acid is created, which impairs a relaxed and natural smile, and sometimes a collection of spittle may also move to a lower position in the face and result in a serious deformation of the face.

The Revolution

As a pioneer in aesthetic medicine from the early days of the nineties, I was privileged to be the first doctor who uses the technique of individual droplets injection of hyaluronic acid to the deeper skin layers – Hypodermis.

This technique allows me to naturally and accurately recreate or restore the desired facial structure with measured droplet injection. This gives highlighting the cheekbone peaks and chin in the sharpest and most precise way that is possible today.

With this technique of droplet injection of hyaluronic acid, the swollen and round facial appearance that often occurs with treatments with other techniques,  is avoided.

In my experience, this advanced injection method, which I have been using since 2005, brings the longest remaining aesthetic results (up to three years) maintaining the perfect facial proportion, and has also been discovered as contributing to improve the external skin texture and increasing its shine and moisture for all years of treatment effect.

Recent studies show that indeed  hyaluronic acid injections to the deepest skin layers lead to physiological rejuvenation of all the skin layers, through enhancing intercellular communication, cell migration and their partitioning –  results that do not occur in the more superficial injections of hyaluronic acid that are systematically and commonly used.
